Woodridge Neighborhood Library, Rooftop
Our knitting group meets the first Wednesday of the month at Woodridge library from 6-7:30pm. Do you already have a project you are working on but want a group to support your progress and to chat with while you work? Are you a beginner in knitting or crochet and want to learn? Join our Knitting group! We will have supplies to help get you started if you need them. Email programs@brooklandvillage.org or call (202)750-3601 if you have any questions or need help with registration.
Join Bluebird Sky Yoga instructor, Eleni Grove, for a gentle yoga class!
Eleni has been a student of yoga for nearing two decades and an instructor since 2014. Eleni loves the crossover of yoga & art. She found yoga as a life-long dancer, and stayed because of the openness and inclusion of the practice and community. Eleni feels passionately about creating accessibility in the modern yoga world - whether in physical postures, in meditative practices, or anything in between. Outside of yoga, Eleni has a supportive partner and two adorable tiny humans, and works as a nonprofit administrator for a health and human services organization.
Beginners welcome and mats are provided free of charge. Masks optional.
Do you love board games? Join the Greater Brookland Intergenerational Village for our monthly game night!
Our neighborhood game night features board games like Scrabble, Yahtzee, Rummikub, and more for the adults. Your kids are welcome too! For the littler ones, we will have Sorry, Memory, and Connect 4. Beginners welcome. Bring a game of your own (or use ours), grab a drink or a snack, and have fun!
This event is held every second Wednesday of the month at Right Proper Brewery on Girard Street. We’ll plan to play on the patio when the weather is warm, and for cooler or rainy evenings, Right Proper has also offered to host us in the back production space. Right Proper does not sell food but you may bring your own (Tastemakers or Menomale are both nearby options).
We‘re meeting at a member‘s home. You will receive the exact address by email prior to the event.
What is a Red Tent?
The Red Tent experience recreates sacred moments that acknowledge the stories that "bodies with wombs" hold. Throughout time and throughout various cultures (and usually during women‘s bleeding times), space was created to allow for intentional gatherings for interpersonal re-alignment and re-affirmation.
