Presented by the ENDependence Center of Northern Virginia (ECNV), this training is designed to help individuals—especially older adults and people with disabilities—gain the confidence and skills needed to travel safely and independently on public transit. Participants will receive instruction on using Metrobus, Metrorail, and accessible pathways, along with practical guidance on planning routes, reading maps, managing fares, and handling unexpected travel situations. Personalized hands-on support is available as needed. ECNV’s certified travel trainers tailor each session to participants’ comfort levels, ensuring everyone learns at their own pace in a supportive environment.
