Spring is a beautiful time for a stroll in the US National Arboretum, a hidden gem in Ward 5. GBIV will host two walks: You can choose to do the easy stroll or continue on for a 3 mile walk. We will start all together at the Admin building (Visitor's Center) and walk directly to the Arboretum's cherry blossom collection, a .5 mile walk each way. After enjoying the cherry blossoms, you can choose to walk back to the Administration building with Nadia Mercer (our Village Director) or continue on a longer hike with our member Sharon, an avid Arboretum walker. If you continue on with Sharon, the walk will be around 3 miles in total and you will most likely see flowering magnolias and other spring blooms. Water and snacks provided.
