Community Service Event: Potting Plants for Brookland Neighbors
Looking to enjoy the spring weather and support your neighborhood? Join the Elsie Whitley Stokes School Equity Team for an outdoor service event in celebration of Older Americans Month and Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. GBIV members are invited to join Stokes school children (pre-K to 5th grade) and their families in preparing potted plants as gifts for residents of the Carroll Manor senior living facility, Little Sisters of the Poor, and Wah Luck House All active GBIV members will also receive their own potted plants as gifts from the Stokes students. The service event will take place outdoors in the gardens at Stokes, and all materials will be provided. This event is limited to GBIV members.
GBIV would also like to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to our community member Annie’s Ace Hardware for generously donating the pots and plants for the event.
Note: This event is limited to GBIV members only.
