Field Trip: Exploring Birdlife at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens
Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens is one of DC's hidden gems. Join Anne Anderson, long-time Brookland birder, as we explore and learn more about the birdlife. Anne was the coordinator of the Audubon Christmas Bird Count for many years and will have her bird books with her to help with identification. She will teach the easiest way to let people know where to find the bird you are seeing "over there".
We will spend time walking along the paths by the waterlily ponds and on the boardwalk, watching for birds that will be busy with nesting tasks during this season.
Please bring your binoculars if you have them, but even if you don't, we'll see plenty of interesting sights that will delight our eyes.
As an introduction, please view the "land acknowledgement" that is on the
Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens website
before we go.
Carpooling may be available - please contact info@brookland.org if you would like to request transportation or are able to offer another neighbor a ride.
