What is this?
On February 2nd, students from the Art Therapy Graduate Program at the George Washington University facilitated the first of two therapeutic art experientials at Brookland Village. Neighbors who participated responded enthusiastically and positively to the event, so we hope that you will join us for the next!
These activities are designed to facilitate creative self-expression, to relieve stress during these uncertain times, and to foster connection and communication with others.
Artistic talent or experience are NOT required to participate in and enjoy these activities, and materials that extend beyond basic household items will be provided.
Session 2: Community Mural:
Using provided materials or media of choice to create a self-symbol that can be combined into a community mural. Toward the end of the session, participants will be invited to hold their piece up to the screen, which will then be captured by screenshot and turned into a collaborative project that will be shared with the greater Brookland community.
