About this event

This free workshop will help participants understand the basic purposes of estate planning and the documents, decisions, and conversations that help families prepare for incapacity, illness, death, and the transfer of property. We will discuss wills, powers of attorney, health-care planning, beneficiary designations, digital assets, and the importance of making a plan that the people you love can actually find and use.

David Edgerton III is a D.C.-based attorney, founder of Edgerton PLLC, and a public educator focused on estate and legacy planning, business continuity, nonprofit and church governance, and institutional responsibility. Through his legal practice and public writing, he helps families and mission-driven organizations translate complex legal and planning questions into practical decisions, conversations, and documents.
