About this event
An overview of the Alexander Technique and how it can impact your day-to-day activities. Volunteers are welcome to bring examples of daily activities (sitting and standing from a chair, playing an instrument, a yoga pose, etc.) to examine with the group through the Alexander Technique.
Nelia Miller came to Alexander Technique through her college opera teacher and discovered not just a performance technique, but a new way to understand her body, her voice, and the way she relates to everything around her. She completed my teacher training in June 2026 after studying for six years. Nelia brings to this work a long practice as a performance artist and theater maker, as well as the equally real experience of spending forty-plus hours a week at a desk. She has worked with students of all ages and from all kinds of backgrounds. Her students are curious about their bodies, how they move, and what might be possible if they stopped getting in their own way.
