About this event
Prudence Wright appears to have a settled, successful life in Washington, D.C., with a devoted husband, a comfortable home, and a past career at McKinsey that allows her to focus on caring for her autistic son. A routine dinner with her husband and one of his new colleagues takes an unsettling turn when the colleague is revealed to be Matshediso, a man from Prudence’s past. His presence transports her back to 1996, when she was a law student interning in South Africa during the Truth and Reconciliation hearings. That time, marked by exposure to the brutal realities of apartheid and by personal trauma, profoundly shaped her sense of justice and morality. Matshediso’s unexpected return and hidden motives force Prudence to confront long-buried truths and reassess her deepest beliefs and resilience.
